As much as it pains me to "say" this Milky, you are a Daddy's boy through and through. Don't get me wrong, you like me ok, and I'm a pretty good option most times, except if your papa is around. And then I am chopped liver. Or something even more lowly. Btw, did you know this is the origin of the phrase "chopped liver"? This blog is nothing if not educational.
Anyways, you really like your dad.
Exhibit A.
Exhibit B
The other morning you got in bed with us around 6:30 am and went back to sleep until 9:00 (thank you sweet Baby Jeebus). Sometime in between those two times I looked over and you and your dad were spooning. Actually spooning. And you were smushed together on the edge of the bed as if to remain as far away from me as humanly possibly,
The Prosecution rests Your Honor.

it's a beautiful day
D,
I have a new name for this winter "2012 - The Winter that Wasn't". In all my years (so many years) I can't remember such a mild winter. It has been nothing short of cray cray. I spent so much time this past fall worrying about the long cold winter months to come, only to have them not come. Guess the joke is on me.
Today, March 14th, it was EIGHT SIX degrees outside. 86. Quatre vingt six. I think Al Gore may be on to something with this whole global warming thing. So sad for the polar bears, but yea for us because we went to the park! Makenna came too, and you guys had a blast. What a difference from last summer when you weren't even walking yet. You ran up and down bridges, went through tunnels, and climbed up and down the slide eleventy billion times. It was like all of a sudden the park just clicked for you and you were all over it.
I think by summer's end I will have a professional park master on my hands.

i say no, no, no no
D (that's what you call yourself now),
Your Papa and I went away for our first weekend with out you. We missed you terribly. You, however, did not miss us. You were too busy having a blast at Mi Mi and Poppy's house. Apparently you invented a new game that involved a lot of falling. I think it scared your Mi Mi, because when I ask you what Mi Mi says, you answer "no, no, no, no."
I think you might have heard a lot of that this past weekend.

oh, i wanna talk to you
I must start this post by addressing the blog.......Ooooof! Poor blog. Lonely, sad and neglected blog. My deepest apologies. I've thought about trying to go back in time and fill in some of the gaps, but I am afraid if I saddle myself with that task I may get overwhelmed and just abandon you altogether. So in the interest of our relationship, we must move forward and never look back. Don't ever look back.
Now to you Boogey. In one short week you will be 18 months. That is half way to two. Two is old. Much older than one. Why does this keep happening?
Of course many things stand out about you, but there is one thing about you that everyone notices. One thing that everyone comments on when we are out in public (besides your full set of chompers). You. Talk. All. The. Time. I mean, really, all day every day. Real words mixed with Dylan chatter. I am sure that whatever you are saying is very important stuff because it comes complete with hand gestures and a side of attitude. It is hilarious. We spend so much time together that a lot of the time I really do think I know what you are saying, but sometimes you even have me baffled.
Dylan chatter is rapidly starting to give way to actual chatter. You are learning more new words every day now. I've been keeping a list. And not just because those stupid Babycenter.com emails have me all paranoid.
Dylan's Dictionary:
Mama
Dada
Mi Mi (Gramma)
Poppy (Grampa)
Indie
ball
Night Night
Bye Bye
HIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!
dog
car
Ice (random)
Pee pee (my personal fave)
NO!
All done
Please
up, up, UP!
down
this
that
bubble
turtle
Ninja - Ok, just kidding, you don't say Ninja. Yet. I'm working on that one still. How funny would it be for a baby to just randomly shout "ninja"? Pretty funny I tell you.
