black and white and furry all over

Baby I hope you like doggies, because you have one here waiting with bated (bad) breath to meet you. Well, actually it is hard to tell if he is waiting to meet you or if he could care less, but I am optimistic that the two of you will be great friends. In my head you guys will take naps together and he will lick the remnants of your lunch off your face.....reality may be a bit different though. In an effort to help the two of you become best of buddies, here are some things you should know about good old Baxter:

  1. He tries really, really hard to be good, but sometimes falls a little short - He gets a lot of leeway from us (probably waaaaay too much) and a common phrase around our house is "he had such a bad life before us" You can tell he wants to be a good boy, and wants to make us happy, but sometimes he just has no control over his body. Oh well.
  2. He is stinky - really stinky. Not like stinky dog body, like clear the room with his gas stinky. we have tried everything to cut down on it, but it seems to be a lost cause. The only solution seems to be breathing through your mouth. Sorry babe.
  3. He LURVES to give kisses - Lick your whole face/ears/neck kisses. It's his version of hello, I love you, good night.......
  4. He is the best nap partner you could wish for - minus the gas which can and will wake you up from a deep sleep, there is nothing better than a warm little Baxter curled up right next to you, or sometimes even on top of you. He loves to sleep and always shows up for any and all naps.
  5. He is happiest at home wedged in between your dad and me - that is pretty much his version of a perfect day. We should all be so lucky.
So that's it baby. I hope you learn to love him as much as we have. It maybe a challenge at time, like when he runs off with your toy or steals food right out of your hand, but somehow that stinky, hairy, lickery little guy still manages to worm his way right into your heart.

big screen debut

Today is the day we officially first laid eyes on you bebe’. We went in for our eight week ultrasound, we met “Bob Barker’s microphone”, and then you popped up on the screen in all your glory. It was such a relief to see you and to see your little heart pounding away. Your Dad and I were amazed by you. Everything looked perfect and right on track. Although, I'm not gonna lie baby, you sort of resemble Mr. Peanut....minus the monocle and cane. I am sure you will cute up with time though.

We talked with the doctor about all the havoc you are reaping on my body and what to do to try and even the score. Since apparently I can’t take anything much stronger than tea, Tylenol, and gentle breaths I think you are going to win though.

We don’t get to see you again for another 4 weeks. How will I ever wait that long? Until then baby stay cool and ease up on the heartburn.
